make it stop!!!!!

Sorry I've been M.I.A for a few, but I've been in hardcore mommy mode. For only having 2 kids, I feel like my work is never done. I found out at 16 weeks I was having a little girl with my first and literally started shopping hours after my ultrasound... she had everything under the sun, from designer shoes to boutique clothes, matching hair bows with every outfit and at least 2 dresses for each holiday. Up until she was about 2 1/2 dressing her was my favorite pasttime, Then the opinions start...wait, you want to decide what your wearing? Yup, she sure did... so for about 2 years now, she has slowly punished me every single day for every huge ridiculous bow I put in her hair....The child will only wear dresses, with leggings... You may read this and say, "really lady, get a grip...your the mom, your the boss"...I hear you and I thought that too, before I had kids! Now let me be honest, if I really want her to wear something, I can force her, but I also don't want to make her a little puppet, I like seeing her style and he personality come out through her outfits and hair. With that said, today, I took her shopping, she really has nothing that fits... We went to a local small mall that has all the necessities. We started at Justice...I'm yet to buy her anything from this store. I can't do it...I think the stuff is cute (well some of it) but she is 5 and its just too old for her in my opinion. We picked out a few things and ended up passing on them and heading to Gymboree.... Gymboree is so far the other way...very young, and its totally hit or miss. I'll either buy both girls every single piece in a collection, or hate everything...today ehhh we left empty handed. Next we went to H&M.. this was a first for me... I'm not going to lie, I'm a brand snob with my kids...so this was actually the first time I'd ever looked at the kids clothes here. I ended up buying her 3 dresses and my little one a dress for under $50 bucks!! WOW! Super cute, for school, certainly not what I'd put her in for a special occasion but great casual school dresses... Have an open mind and check out H&M for the kiddos... I was impressed! I'm struggling to dress her so if any of you have any stores to share with me, I'd happily take the advice...she is 5 and a size 6... so at Gap, she is on the kids side...they have nothing right now... Old Navy, nothing... its so challenging. Everyone says its so much fun to dress girls... Yes the stuff is cute, but once they pass 4, the fun stops a little :( ... I just want her to STOP growing up! Tomorrow I will be back with some fun fashion advice...promise!! Enjoy your sunday evening...xoP

Denim showing its true colors....

I've been given the best challenge ever!! My girlfriend Lindsay has asked for some denim "help".... first off, Lindsay is beyond fabulous.... pretty much the closest thing to perfection both inside and out, so I'm pretty sure she's just trying to make me feel special :)) I don't believe she needs any help! With that said, guess where I was today!!! Yup, the mall... I swear, two days in a row, two different malls, two different errands for my husband. Today was a return for him at LuluLemon... thank you honey, I for sure made out on that deal! (LOVE LULU, thats a whole other topic...at another time). Today I went to King of Prussia...such a delicious mall...I am so set in my ways, I park at Lord and Taylor, browse their BCBG section, go out make a left, hit Juicy, look at BeBe's window and decide if its too trashy or not (today it was), then hit Nordstrom shoes, accessories, upstairs, through contemporary, out make a right, loop around to Neimans and finish there... that's my quick visit strategy. I saw Lindsays post as I was in Neimans...I was so bundled up, I didn't have the energy to try on, so I was really just window shopping and taking in the scenery... adjacent to shoes, they have a monster table full of denim... all colors and patterns... It was yummy... So your most important denim trend for spring is going to be a color. White counts, if your not into trends and you have white in your closet, your done. How easy was that! Denim stresses people out and for me its an absolute favorite to shop for. I am up for any denim challenge you throw my way. So for tonight I leave you with this... Lindsay, I will give you a huge report on denim, fits, brands, styles, but I need a bit more time. I will deliver I promise. For now if you want in on the colored denim trend, hit those sales I always talk about. Try Piperlime.com they are having their Lime tag sale 40% off... colored denim started in the fall and is carrying through to spring, so you can score a pair on sale and wear it right through the spring and summer months! Happy Shopping ladies...and please don't get me in trouble with your hubbies!!!!! xoP

Buy this not that....

I can't remember a time that I wasn't a complete fashion obsessed shopaholic....from 7th grade on I kept a calendar and recorded every single outfit I wore to school so I was sure to never repeat....fashion has always been my thing. Why I didn't leave my small town and go to NYC at 18 is still beyond me, but everything happens for a reason and being a Momma's girl led me to this computer in my warm home, with my 2 babies sleeping upstairs and my husband only feet away from me. Today I went to the mall to run an errand for my husband (I swear) ... I walked through H&M... Now I loved several looks I saw, but was all bundled up and didn't feel like trying on, so I passed...but I was feeling some of the fabrics and looking at how they NAIL every single trend...BUT a lot of the stuff in my humble opinion was a little cheap looking but there were peices that I would consider going back and trying on. With that said, I completely respect stores such as H&M and Forever 21 but I think if you shop correctly you never have to buy something "disposable" again.... These stores for the most part nail the trends and price them for next to nothing and at most you'll get a season out of them. As I mentioned yesterday, January is the month to shop... Everything is marked down and the deals are endless. I've mentioned in the past, that if you buy higher end items, they will not only last longer, but they will stay in fashion longer. I have jeans in my closet that are 8 or 9 years old and I could wear them tomorrow and you'd never know it. As a matter of fact, they are my first pair of True Religion...I can't part with them. But my mom has always told me , "you get what you pay for"... so instead of buying a $12.90 sweater at H&M, shop at Banana Republic or Express in January and get a $50 or $60 sweater for $20... You'll get a couple of seasons out of it. As I type this I'm wearing a fantastic T-bags sweater I bought 2 or 3 years ago...I think I paid $60 for it and it retailed for $195... it looks brand new... a little more money up front, but you'll get a whole lot more out of it. Now to give you a fun website...I'm going to attach the link and hopefully it works for you.... http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/fashionfix/refer.jsp this is the Saks fifth avenue "fashion fix" referral page.... put in your email address and start receiving emails for amazing sales... tonight I bought a leather dress...no actually I STOLE a leather dress... such a deal I couldn't resist... My poor girlfriend Melissa... I was so excited that I had to get off the phone with her to order it! Yup I'm pathetic... sign up and get to shopping!!! Have a fabulous night....and all of my East coast peeps, bundle up!!! xoP

Happy New Year!!!

I'm not much of a resolution girl but I must say that getting my posts out there in 2012 needs to be a bigger priority.... I enjoyed hearing from so many people for fashion and beauty advice last year and hope you continue to read and enjoy my posts in 2012! I'm going to try for 3-5 a week....thats a realistic goal!! With that being said, January is one of the biggest sale months of the year, so if you haven't taken advantage of them yet, get to the mall or your computer.... Saks is at 70% off through today....has been my favorite January sale for years. This year, I didn't go crazy like I normally do...as I get older, I'm realizing that less is more....even where shoes are concerned. I never thought I could have too many but lately I'm happier window shopping and studying up on the latest trends. I have so much fun information to share with you in the upcoming weeks. My retail backround has me in Spring mode by february, so stay tuned for some fun resort ideas and spring must haves!!! Thank you for taking time out of your day, I hope to fill your bucket with fantastic fashion advice in 2012~ xoP
